2 embryos....1st cycle treatment?

Hi All, my husband and I are starting IVF soon and our clinic states that according to guidelines it has to recommend that only 1 embryo be transferred the first go..., so do i have the choice to go against this recommendation and ask to have 2 implanted? worst case I tell tell them that if they wont I will go to a clinic that will (which is in sydney) and they dont mind transferring 2 as long as we are informed and aware of the risks, being that both clinics are in the same state, does this mean that its not a legal recommendation, just a general recommendation?? thanks
