Is it safe to save sex with someone who has a cold sore on their lip?

the girl who i am intending to have sex with has a cold sore on her lip (her lip on her mouth).. technically a cold sore is the herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) and i am wondering if it is nothing to worry about or if it is a bad idea
