HSV-1 Negative with a Boyfriend With Cold Sores (Please disclose to your partner!!!)?

My boyfriend decided to tell me 6-months into our relationship that he gets cold sores. He assumed "everybody had it" (which is NOT true) and has now exposed me to the virus for 6-months though he only had a cold sore when he went away for a few weeks. I'm scared and angry I was put at risk (as well as his less than honest answers about being tested/cleared for STDs - he apparently slept with someone else after those tests). I am a 30-year old woman who just tested HSV-1 negative but I know it can take a while to show up. We only had oral sex twice but obviously kissed a lot. When am I in the clear? My doc said to get tested in 3-months, but could it still show up after that? Why can't people realize this is something you need to disclose to your partner???!!! I have been hospitalized for past autoimmune conditions and don't need this on my plate.The stress has been terrible. Our relationship is on the rocks and I'm just scared for my own health.
