Can someone get genital herpes from themselves?

Okay so I've been pondering a lot been reading a bunch about std's and such through yahoo Q & A and was wondering what if someone who has HSV-1 With no symptoms kisses someone and then that person gives them oral can they get genital herpes that way? or what if he gives her oral sex and then has sex with her, Can you give yourself Genital herpes like that?
